"Yay, got my new toy today: Pimax 5K+. Results: It's amazing how quickly you go from "WOW, check out this amazing field of view! I can see everything!" to "Yeah, this is how it's supposed to be... Whatevs." Also, while the difference between "Medium" and "Large" FOV is supposed to be an extra +20 degrees (+10 degrees per side), it's hardly noticeable, but it's enough of a frame hit and distortion at the edges to turn it off.
Results: DCS ran at nearly the same frame rate it did with the Vive Pro on my RTX 2080 Ti. *However* - the "Smart Smoothing" motion smoothing tool dropped my frame rate nearly in half. Well, by 2/3rds. IL2 was worse, going from 76-88 fps down to 45. That's the in-game calculated frame rate. The Vive motion smoothing didn't seem to do that, just seemed to interpolate between. Anyway... that causes some issues, and I might not use it often, but I'll experiment more.
However, it's a lot easier to "check six" with the wider FOV, and it's really nice. I think the drivers / software need some more work, and this isn't really a stake in the heart of the Odyssey+ or Vive Pro. But... it's nice. Really nice. I look forward to playing with it more."
Wygląda na to
, że jeszcze mają trochę do pogrzebania w sterownikach. Konkurencja nie śpi. Mam przeczucie, że jak już to ogarną to na rynek wejdzie lepszy produkt z konkurencyjnej firmy.
